OFFICIAL CAMBRIDGE EXAMS

Last Friday 13th May, the official Cambridge exams took place at our school again. All the students from 3^rd to 6^th grade, who voluntarily sat the exam, got the chance to check their English knowledge level, which will be validated by the well-known University of Cambridge. They spent the whole morning to complete the different parts of the exam (listening-reading-speaking) and they all were really encouraged, so there was an optimistic general impression during and after the exam. All we have to do is to wait for the results in June… :p

THE VELVETEEN RABBIT

Last Friday the 15^th April, our 4^th, 5^th and 6^th Primary students went to Teatre Principal in Sabadell to watch a theatre play in English. As an activity which is included in the foreign languages’ programme that our school develops, we all enjoyed “The velveteen rabbit”. The play was held by Unicorn Theatre, which is a really well-known company in the UK. Everybody was very attentive all the time and all of our students got a good experience after watching the play.

UN RIU D'HISTÒRIES, ELS ORÍGENS DE SABADELL

Last Wednesday 13th April, our 5th graders visited “La torre de l’aigua” and “Ermita de St.Nicolau”. Both activities are included in this course project “Què, qui, com” and were held in English. After discovering the tower and its interesting origins, our pupils enjoyed the amazing views of our city from the tower’s top. Then, we all moved to St. Nicolau’s chapel, and, after learning about its interesting origins, we all had a great time in the surrounding forest, where we played and sunbathed as much as we could! 

I-3 PIRATES

Els nens i nenes de I3 hem fet de PIRATES! Després de dies entrenant a l’aula de Psicomotricitat fent circuits, racons i molts jocs, vam poder construir plegats un ship per a poder navegar a alta mar com a bons pirates que som. Ens ho vam passar molt bé!

I-5 PLANETS PROJECT

Els nens i nenes de P5 estan fent un projecte dels Planetes amb el qual estan aprenent moltes coses de l’Universe i el Solar System. Des de l’assignatura d’anglès i de psicomotricitat hem après més coses d’aquest projecte i estem aprenen els Planets en anglès a través d’una cançó molt divertida.


I des de Psicomotricitat hem fet uns jocs representant el Solar System mentre cantavem la cançó i hem fet el recorregut dels Planets al voltant del Sun. També hem sigut astronauts perseguits per uns quants Planets, hem tingut sort del Sun que ens anava salvant. Ha sigut molt guai!

6È DE PRIMÀRIA VISITA LA CASA DURÁN.

6TH GRADERS VISIT CASA DURAN

On Tuesday 16th February, our 6th graders visited Casa Duran. This activity corresponds to the English subject. So, all the explanation and information were given in English. The students had a great time and learnt how this rich family lived in the early 17^th century.

6TH GRADERS ACT AS A TEACHER IN HALLOWEEN

As everybody knows, Halloween is held on October 31st year after year. Last Friday the 30^th, it was celebrated among all our students at Jesús Salvador.  And as our own school tradition, 6^th graders dressed up into different scary and spooky costumes to develop the Halloween activity as a part of the English subject. This activity consists on developing different English vocabulary activities among the whole primary levels (from 1^st to 5^th). Sixth graders behave as teachers and present different tasks to their mates (crosswords, word-searches, matching games…). By doing so, our youngest pupils get familiarized to the English culture since their very early childhood as well as our 6^th graders (and the rest of the primary students) improve and put their English skills into practice. Everybody had a great time!!!

LA RAJOLA DECORATIVA A SABADELL

Durant aquest mes, hem tornat a gaudir dels regals modernistes que tenim a Sabadell; els grups de tercer de primària hem après molts secrets sobre la rajola decorativa. Vàrem començar la sortida al Museu d'Art, on ens van presentar a Marian Burguès i Modest Casademunt, dos ceramistes de renom . A continuació, vàrem fer un recorregut pel centre de la ciutat observant alguns exemples en diferents edificis modernistes, com ara el Despatx Lluch, el Col·legi Sagrada Família, l'Hotel Suís i d'altres que podreu veure a les fotografies que hem penjat a la plataforma clickedu.

STORYTELLING CI I 3r

On Thursday March 5th, Patricia McGill, the international storyteller, visited our school. She is a well known storyteller who has been working and collaborating with many storytelling projects worldwide (Catalonia, Spain, Brazil) for many years.

As part of the English curricular subject, she came and told our 1^st, 2^nd and 3^rd graders many interesting, interactive and different stories in English. Our students enjoyed the activity which took place in our new multi-use room.

Patricia emphasized on children’s interaction throughout her whole performances: she aimed to make the students participate and develop the stories, she fostered students’ imagination and creativity while listening to an English story, but, above all this, she focused on the students’ understanding and enjoyment.

Then, the experience was absolutely successful. We all are waiting forward to listening to Patricia’s stories again!!!

SORTIDA MODERNISME EN ANGLÈS

Continuem coneixent Sabadell a través de l’art, i aquesta vegada ha sigut en anglès. Durant dues hores, 5è ha fet un recorregut pel centre de la ciutat observant alguns dels edificis modernistes. Hem començat a l'Hotel Suís, i seguint pel carrer de la Indústria i carrers adjacents hem acabat al costat del mercat. La Marina, la nostra guia, ens ha mostrat molts secrets del Modern Style o Modernism. Ens ha explicat per què les persones de principis del segle XX van decidir construir i decorar d’aquesta manera. També ens ha parlat de la influència de les fàbriques tèxtils en la vida sabadellenca, i perquè es diu “despatxar” quan t’atenen a les botigues. Quanta informació i quines curiositats!! Ara, com diu la Sofia, veiem roses a tot arreu!!

I-5 OUR FRIEND LEPRECHAUN

Hello families!

This week we have received a special letter from a famous character of the Irish culture: the Leprechaun. We have learned who he is, where he comes from and where he lives. Ask your children if you want to know more about the Leprechaun!

With his help we are going to learn a lot about spring time!

I5 MY FAMILY

Hello families!

Last Tuesday toddlers of I5 introduce their families to the class. They introduced themselves, their mums, dads, brothers and sisters. Some of them even brought pictures to show!

ENGLISH THEATRE FROM 3RD TO 6TH GRADE

Our primary eduacation pupils from 3^rd to 6^th grade went to the theatre on Friday 7^th Feb. At that time, they watched a play called “Time Travellers”. That play aimed to foster students’ interest in foreign language and in some relevant events from human history as well. All our children had fun.

The play was held by Blue Mango, a very well-known theatre company that supports learners’ exposure to realia (all the actors/actresses are English native speakers) and try to link the plots of their plays to the main contents that students work on in the English class at school.

ENGLISH THEATRE INICIAL CICLE

Once again, our Primary students went to the Casal Pere Quart to see some theatre plays in English. As part of the foreign language program our school is following, last Tuesday 4^th Feb. our students in first and second grade enjoyed “Super Sue”. They had lots of fun by dancing and singing, as well as they learnt a lot on recycling.

Els nens i nenes de 4rt de primària han anat a les classes d’I3 a cantar i representar la canço del Rudolph! Què no sabeu qui és el Rudolph? És el ren més important de tots i té un nas vermell que brilla i guia al Pare Noel!

Sixth graders have celebrated Halloween by dressing up and joking to primary students. They behave as teachers and they also did English activities with the young learners. Everyone had a great time!!
